It's moral, it's just, it's for you own good and it's stupid. Why can't the government under King Bush do anything right? I guess when your country's President/King has a 28% approval rating and can still do whatever he wants, the government can do stupid things. Here we are faced with more post 9/11 'it's for your own good' legislation. Big Brother wants to collect information from credit card record, hotel bills, grocery list and maybe even your diary in attempts to find out about potential hijackers and terrorists.

The TSA, or Transportation Security Administration, is also creating a system which will do background and assigning threat level to passengers who fly. This just has so many 'No's' stamped across it, that it looks like a computer glitch. The government should be the one with the threat level.

Now all the government bowing pansies are all for it as they believed they are being saved from this great unknown evil. As for the rest of us who has actively lived in this country for the last 6 year knows that President Shrub and his government do nothing in our favor, not even when they're supposed to (think Hurricane Katrina).

I bet your wondering where the sense in this is? If you didn't get the context clues-there is none. How will you checking my grocery list telling you if I'm a terrorist. Last time I checked, the supermarket sold food, not explosives. All of it's preposterous unless there is a website that sells dirty bombs out there then the credit card thing would make sense. But I guess that is the headliner for the bill-the credit card history. They needed something on the list of intrusions that made partial sense so help forward their agenda. I think they realize if ALL of it was just out of the window Bushism lawmaking then maybe people would stir a bit, maybe whisper a little half completed thought of opposition. But they got us pacified. For the most part we ain't doing nothing. They have nothing to worry about unless Simon from American Idol starts giving political speeches-then America might listen.

Next is the TSA giving everyone a threat level. It's as if we're going on planes are inmates and they need to know what kind of security they are going to put us under. "He's commited murder, put him in maximum security." Now translate to. "He didn't pay his bills on time, put him through increased security." That's what happens when you have the wrong translator. A Spanish-English translator can't translate Greek.

The bottom line is that nothing here in this legislation makes sense. It never does. Why should it? The people seem not to care anymore, and the Bushist regime pours massive amounts of salt on that wound. America seems to be more interested in why Brittany Spears shaved her head than why the have to go thought 5 security checks for a 1 hour flight? As for now the government is in raping mode and is taking advantage of every flaw the American people as a whole possess. We can only hope soon that someone or something come to help tackle the complex system of politics, money and lies that is:

America: The Nanny State

Sources:

Wired News

I Say What I Want To In Front of Who I Want

I still waiting for the law that says that I can't visit certain websites at certain time. I'm sure their working on it. But as for now the the government ceases to amaze me. The probably the most outrageous government intrusion of free speech EVER, is the Mississippi state law that says you cannot use profane language in public. WOW, HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE! No one seriously knows about this, which is where my job comes in. All volunteer.

So now I can't use expressive language in the street, let's say... if I just got fired from my job? Mmm. That's why I couldn't live in Mississippi, nor any other citizen repressive regime like Cube, somewhere in Europe and America. Damn looks like I'm stuck. Well since it's convenient I'll resort to Constitutional reference: FREEDOM OF SPEECH. According to some old guys, rights such as these are non-alienable. Yeah, right.

We could blame this one on gay people or people way too proud of there race, but the simple fact is that the people of this nation have become too much of pansies to just learn to let things go. Man, in a heated argument in the workplace I called my employee a fag and now he's suing me for my life savings. Words only have the power you allocate to them. You give words power they will affect you. They cannot offend by nature, perception and anger morph them into things that turn into taboo in the public eyes. Now we have to treat gays special, because they have given power to so many things that now they just seem like super sissies. Even now reading this someone somewhere wants to tell me off about it. Forget it, I'm giving no power to your words. Game Over. That's all it takes.

As long as these most Americans do not heed this warning, the Big Brother America will continue to hold you captive to your own weakness. And in this weakened pansy-fied state how will The People stand up to the complex system of politics, money and lies that is:

America: The Nanny State

Sources:

Freedom Of Speech

Dumb Laws

Don't Tell Me Where To Call My Mom!

Not only can we not drink a mildly alcoholic beverages in the car (think harmless malt liquor), but now if I need some emotional support from my mom because I just might feel like driving my car off that cliff that rapidly closing in fast. Sure there a legal loophole made purposely to pacify the opposition to such legislation. That's all well and good, but everyone doesn't own a Bluetooth headset. Even if I did, I don't want to walk around looking like a crew member from: Star Trek.

Let's get this straight. It's my car, my gas, my tree shaped air freshener, my seat cushions, my mom on the phone. I just don't see where the government comes into the picture. It's like how do you multiply five 1's and end up with 2? This is the dilemma that I, and you, should be facing.

Nanny says that you can't talk on your cell phone while driving. Why you ask? Because could get into an accident. Well Mr. Big Brother Nanny, I could also get into an accident by looking in the rear view mirror, sneezing, looking at a crash site, having kids in the car, thinking about last night and even JUST BY DRIVING! Big Brother find nothing wrong with these everyday driving occurances. I mean nearly all of these can be solved one way or another. You could limit the number of people in cars to just one (which would waste fuel). They could outlaw rearview mirror and you could just guess who's behind you. They could implant all driver's brains with a chip that records brain activity and if you think of anything besides the next turn or destination you would be fined $500-wirelessly.

Now you, the freedom loving American is sitting at home saying, "None of this is possible." Boy will you be in for a surprise in the coming years. Anything is possible with the freedom raping regime currently in power with King Bush at it's head.

As our simple but meaningful freedom are being taking away like salary deductions, the American People are becoming pansy-fied. If we don't take a stand, nothing will stop the complex system of politics, money and lies that governs the most powerful nation on the planet:

America: The Nanny State

Sources:

What is This Smoke you Speak Of?

Smoking? Yeah, it's bad. I think everyone knows that. But, in a way computer monitors are bad for you and your looking at one right now. No one seems to have a problem with a lot of things that are clinically proven to be harmful for you. Like outside. Have you seen CO2 levels lately?

Here, once again we have a case of the government stepping in pointing fingers and putting red crossing through stuff. That would be a problem if this wasn't supposed to be a 'democracy'. Totalitarianism: okay, communism: okay, fascism: okay, even in Socialism: okay. But now we come upon democracy and the hand goes to the head and starts scratching, impulsive on the sudden itch that ensued from brain overload.

In recent years, or should I say in the post 9/11 United States, the government has been taking various measures to protect us from the evil unknown. That's would be all good if it wasn't all just falsified political garble. You want to protect 'US' from 'them'? listen to our phone calls. You want to stop terrorism? bomb the hell out of a Islamic nation; that'll do the trick. Save 'US' from 'US'. Mmm... Punish 'US'. Right!

While the terror alert was wasn't that high the government decided that there was nothing else to do but to pass new legislation; not unheard of. Today's target: Smoking. Now let's see...smoking's bad right? Let's ban it! Why not. It would help solve the moral dilemma in the country. So now what do they do? The say "Hey restaurant owners. We know you built this little foundation here from the ground up, but um, were just gonna have to tell you that you can't have your customers smoke in here anymore." And before there is any opposition, law is passed. Restaurant owners were already creating smoking and non-smoking sections of their establishment long before the long arm of the law got hold of them. Not that the sections were effective in isolating smoke, but at least they made an attempt to satisfy everyone. Not good enough for the Nanny.

By the government imposing the sanction, they have taken the owners right to choose the way the wish to run their establishment by forcing them to do things in the way that they deem is right. It's almost as if the government says that parents can't use air fresheners in their house if they have children in the home who are not air freshener users. In this ideology it is the same thing. Air freshener are bad for the air: scientific fact. But how lame would the Super Nanny seem if it went after air fresheners, something probably about 5 people in the country care about.

Does this all matter to the political puppets in white house, cream colored house and occasionally the brick red house? No they already have their laws in place. They're busy moving on to the next, which is most likely pet dander in airports or something. Don't worry people: what rises must fall, and we're already halfway down to the crash and burn part. There's nothing you can do about it, the politicians will continue to work for the most powerful nation of the world made up of complex system of politics, money and lies:

America: The Nanny State

Sources:

Doug Hagin

I Eat What I Want

When you were little, your mother told you what and what not to eat, by not letting you eat certain foods. Then, despite your wanting for those certain items, you couldn't have them and it could be said that your mother did know what was best. It was acceptable, because you had no choice in the matter and it was probably for the best. Even if it wasn't you still had no choice. Now, with that scenario, imagine that on a nationwide scale. Yes, the Government is now your mom. In December 2006 the New York City government imposed a ban on trans fatty acids aka trans fats. Trans fats are chemically altered versions of fats. The fat molecules inserted hydrogen molecules, making them partially hydrogenated (think partially hydrogenated soybean oil and margarine). These trans fats kill two birds with one stone: it rises the levels of cholesterol that is bad for you and lowers the good cholesterol. Bad? Yes. But Legal? Moral? Justifiable? NO. NO. NO.

When you’re a kid and you mom tell you that you can’t eat something, you can do nothing about it. Because, in most parent’s eyes you are a kid and you have no rights. That’s besides the fact that they are you parents and from an unofficial law they are always right. Not right to some, but justifiable. The government on the other hand, no so much. Last time I check this was a democracy and the Constitution was the law of the land. But it seems that in this post 9/11 world the Constitution is the law of the land when it’s convenient. Let’s say when some need to get something done and they need more support. Gay Marriage?

Now here is the rundown: By Constitutional right you have the freedom to choose. By the government eliminating a choice from you in the name of what’s good for you, they are violating your rights. That’s it. It’s simply the opinion of certain politicians who have an agenda and who are in need of things to put on their political resume. “I saved New York from trans fats!” some grey suited, red tied, son of a rich family politician is saying the their office suit after their legal system clogging legislation has passed.

A nationwide nanny? I don’t think so. Just a tad bit too vast. When you nanny is one person you can get away with stuff, avoiding only one pair of eyes. But now I have to duck and weave and dodge a complex system of politics, money and lies and the puppets of them all.

Someone needs to stand up to this gargantuan beast of a nanny, and it’s not going to be me. At least not now. I like staying home and playing video games. For now someone else has to find a way to tackle the most powerful nation in the world:

America: The Nanny State

Sources:

Critical Miami.com

Becker-Posner Blog

How is Risking Your Safety a Crime?

Why is not wearing seat belts illegal? Some may not have thought much about it. But it may be more serious than you think. A little thing in the United States Constitution states that all American citizens are entitled to the freedom to choose, basically whatever he wants, within the boundaries of the law (which are by nature meant to be broken). Consequently, the government would be imposing on these rights given by our forefathers, to save us from ourselves.

Fact: Seat belts save lives. Opinion: The government has the right to force you to do what’s good for you. What is not a fact is the opinion of the government. So when the government say to wear a seat belt because they think it's good for you, it's opinion. But that opinion quickly turns into fact when legislation occurs it becomes a law. People's Opinion? Doesn't matter.

Now we can break down the law and see exactly how it violate everything that this country is supposedly founded upon. First the government gives us the right to drive cars. Great. The government let's us choose from the market which car or vehicle we choose to drive. Freedom of Choice. We are allowed to purchase any gasoline that we choose. Freedom of Choice. We can choose any car decorations, seat cushions, air freshener leaf, and listen to any radio station we can connect to. These are all due to the American right of personal liberty and they are not mandatory, but optional, hence the word 'choice'. But come the issue of seat belts. We have to wear them. Although in the defiant attitude we don't have to because one could just face the penalties time and time again and fell content with your government defiance. Possible, but unrealistic. This most of us like to keep those hard earned American dollars in our pockets that we have to liberty to spend how we choose, in our pockets. This is said because the only was a 'democratic' government can punish it's people for violating laws is by monetary fines, prison time, or death. The latter two being for more extreme cases, this one imposes an $86 fine for disobeying our Government Nanny.

I don't know about you but my 'nanny' lives at home in the form of parents. It is in no way shape or form a complex system of politics, money and lies that govern to most powerful nation on the planet:

America: The Nanny State

Sources:

<a style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);" html="" 68528="" article="" com="">Mandatory Seat Belt Laws Violate Personal Liberty
